My name is Ilya. I’m a heavyweight boxer, and my nickname—though I haven’t been sitting on the stove—Muro-mets. Everything was going fine until I got disqualified. My father got sick and we need money for treatment. But where can you get it if you can’t do anything properly besides smashing other people’s faces? So I went to fight at an underground arena. I thought I’d wave my fists around, make some money, and ride off into the sunset. I didn’t take into account that when big money is on the line, businessmen don’t disdain anything. In the end, after the final bout, they sold me—half-dead—to some oddballs, and those sent me through a portal. I was thrown into another world. Into a labyrinth with monsters, set up for the entertainment of the local freaks. And to top it off, the portal granted me the ability called “Voidwalker.” What it is—I still don’t really understand. I only know they named it that not because it’s cool. But I’ll get out. I’ll find a way home. And then, with the people who set up this circus, I’ll talk—Russian style—without rules, referees, and the gong for a break.
