Yet again, the Turkish investigator gets a dangerous and tangled case: the murder of an American journalist of Russian origin, Peter Zernov, the chief editor of an international magazine published in Russia under the title “World and Country.” Usually it’s hard for an investigator to find a suspect, but here there are far too many. Yet there are special reasons to hate him for the “Golden Hundred” — the hundred richest people in Russia, whose surnames Zernov dared to publish in his magazine. With numbers in his hands, he managed to prove that the fortunes the “Golden Hundred” flaunt in a poor country are, in fact, just someone else’s money.
