Wondrous Are Thy Ways, O Lord

How strange Your ways are, Lord! As soon as Andrey Ilyich Bogolyubov takes the position of director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Pereslavl, truly strange—“miraculous”—things begin to happen around him. The former director suddenly dies right before Bogolyubov’s eyes! He is threatened and sabotaged: tires get punctured, disgusting notes are slipped in, he is suspected of trying to close the museum—and they even attempt to kill him! Soon it becomes obvious that something inexplicable, grand, and dark is going on in his museum. Bogolyubov is forced to seriously take up the investigation. And at the same time he has to sort out his feelings toward his former wife, who unexpectedly and completely untimely appears on the doorstep of his new home—truly, Lord, how strange Your ways are!
