Alexandra Marinina, a popular Russian writer who has authored a series of detective novels and a filmed series cycle about the work of an undercover operative in a dress—Anastasia Kamenskaya—is also the author of wonderful plays in a complex comedic genre.
“Thrown Away Doll with Torn-Off Legs” is a psychological work. At the center is a woman beset by storms that overwhelm her from within: emotions, passions, fears. In contrast stands a man—an established writer—who debunks all of this woman’s logic, which is completely incomprehensible to him.
This light, funny, sometimes instructive play will make you look at familiar things differently.
The female roles were played by the honored actresses of the Russian Federation Tamara Spiricheva and Elena Starodub, while the role of the writer was performed by the Soviet and Russian theatre and film actor and film director Mikhail Bogdasarov, who also directed this audio project.
