The Baroness and the Dead Man

During a winter blizzard, a farmer gets lost and finds something that looks like a human corpse in the forest, then reports it to the police. Operative Alexey Artemov from the criminal investigation department goes to the scene, but finds neither the body nor any traces pointing to a crime. The detective faces a difficult dilemma: was a murder committed here, or did all of this simply appear to a dying-from-the-cold farmer? Despite his colleagues’ skepticism, he continues to search systematically for the mythical dead person. Ahead of the detective lie many events and adventures, and when he finally reaches the truth, he understands that this case is destined for him.
