Edgar Wallace (1875–1932) was an English writer, playwright, screenwriter, and journalist. A contemporary of Arthur Conan Doyle, he surpassed him in popularity at the time of the creation of the very first Sherlock Holmes. Edgar Wallace is one of the well-known English authors of the detective genre.

At sixteen, Anthony Newton was a soldier and defended his homeland. At twenty-six, he searched in vain for work, patiently обходячи numerous offices.
