A hunt has been declared for inquisitor Bronislav Chevak. Having escaped from the Black Eldar Library, Chevak stole the “Atlas of the Underworld”—a living map of the Web. Armed with this legendary relic and his own sharp intellect, Chevak fends off attacks by harlequins sent to capture him and destroys the plans of his enemies within the Inquisition, who want him dead. But Chevak’s most dangerous foe is Ahriman, the arch-mage from the Thousand Sons. He thirsts for knowledge from the Black Library—knowledge that could make him a god—and is ready to destroy the inquisitor to obtain it. A desperate chase begins, smashing through the fabric of reality. Chevak can survive only by overcoming the clash of minds of the one chosen by Tzeentch, the Lord of Chaos, and the Architect of Fate.
