For centuries, amaranths existed alongside people, remaining a secret to most—only a few knew of them. But one day, mysterious creatures—half people and half beasts—stopped hiding, and the familiar order of the world changed forever.
Everyone knows: only another dragon can track down a dragon. So when a disgraced exile dragon needs to be caught, the united Council of humans and amaranths turns to Sainder, a reclusive dragon who has kept apart from other people’s affairs for many years. He’s used to relying only on himself: it’s safer and calmer that way. But now he has to act not alone, but as part of a group—while people look at him with awe and, at times, with fear. Such a mixture of feelings could spell trouble.
There’s also another rule: dragons don’t trust anyone. But perhaps it’s time to doubt it—and take the risk.
