The ice station “Grendel,” trapped inside a giant iceberg drifting near Alaska’s shores, has remained abandoned for more than seventy years. A twisted creation of the most ingenious minds, it was built to be impregnable and invisible. It stubbornly keeps its dark secrets. But one day, an American research submarine accidentally passes too close, and its instruments detect some movement deep inside the icy mass. Could there really be life within, against all laws of nature? Scientists begin their investigations. They don’t even suspect that the station’s creators have already sent a destruction team to the iceberg—headed by a fanatic who has his own aims: to take revenge on all of humanity for the death of his father.
