Description
In this episode, we’re joined by Fedor Vinokurov—Head of marketing and UX research at MTS. We discussed how designer and researcher roles and ways of thinking differ: why UX designer can be compared to Leonardo da Vinci, and a researcher to Sherlock Holmes. We examined how the cost of making an error changes product-creation approaches for a UX/UI designer and for a researcher—both in startups and in large product companies.

We talked about tasks for independent practice for a beginner researcher and five basic methods of data collection. We also touched on the tools and services researchers use, the usefulness and limitations of handbooks, conducting interviews, and what a UX researcher portfolio might look like.
