Valentin Safonov’s book “The Earthling’s Hut” found a voice thanks to Yegor Serov, the chief editor of the radio station “Book,” host of the column “Book Review with Yegor Serov” in the program “Russia in the Morning” on the TV channel “Russia 1,” an honorary academician of the Russian Academy of Radio. The novella “The Earthling’s Hut” tells about one full day in the life of Yuri Gagarin’s family during the occupation in the Great Patriotic War. Just one day—with grief and joy, fear and hope, life and death—and faith in victory over the Fascists.
