The Death of Ahasuerus

The 20th-century Swedish literature classic Per Fabian Lagerkvist, in his notes, admitted that he `started writing before he had even managed to read at least one book, apart from textbooks.` In his long literary life, he acted as a poet, playwright, novelist, journalist; since 1940 he was a member of the Swedish Academy, and in 1951 he became a Nobel laureate.
