Description
Ilya Ilyin (actual name Ilya Hasanovich Chvyir, born 1957) is a Russian journalist, playwright, and children’s writer. In the not-so-distant past—chief editor of the printed version of the humorous magazine “Yeralash.” He collaborated with other children’s publications and took part in film projects, including work on the screenplay for the film “Voroshilovskyi Shooter.”

Unlike the fun stories in the “Yeralash” style familiar to our listeners, the novella “Shpana Zavetnaya” is a very serious work. “Dedicated to the boys and girls of the Great Patriotic War…”—with these words the author introduces his story. Near Moscow, the Germans continue their advance. The village Zavetovo is occupied: Soviet troops have temporarily withdrawn. The children left in the village decide to resist the invaders and come up with a secret organization—an assault unit of young avengers. The Hitlerites won’t stay long on Moscow land: the Soviet counteroffensive will begin day by day. But Zavetovo can’t know that. The “Zavetovo kids,” “the dear little hoodlums,” bravely involve themselves in a deadly enterprise and stand up to the enemy. Listen to this exciting and touching novella!
