Description
Evgeny Tarussky is a Russian military-public figure, journalist, and writer. An active participant in the White movement, a rank-and-file volunteer of the 2nd Officers’ Shooter General Drozdovsky Regiment.
Since 1920 he served in the navy, evacuating from Crimea on a destroyer whose crew eventually settled near Marseille. In exile in Paris, from 1925 he edited the newspaper “Gallipoliets”; in 1928 he published his autobiographical novel “The Odyssey’s Crew,” which immediately brought him great fame among the Russian émigrés, especially among military men. After that began Tarussky’s inexhaustible literary and journalistic activity: he was an assistant editor of “Evening Time,” the author of numerous articles in émigré and French press, and a staff member of “Vozrozhdenie.”
In 1931 he participated in publishing two books, “Army and Navy.” This publication contained valuable material about Russian military affairs abroad and reminded of the annual issues of the Memorial Books published by the military printing house of Imperial Russia. In this collection, you’ll find an audio version of selected stories by the writer.
