Description
British politician and parliamentarian Ivor Tesham has a mistress named Hebe. He himself is unmarried, but she is married, so the pair must observe certain precautions. Hebe even has a special friend who provides her with an alibi each time during their love meetings. But one day Ivor decides to give his lover a rather peculiar birthday present — to stage her kidnapping with the help of two of his friends; then the “kidnappers” will bring their “victim” to Ivor’s house, where a surprise will be waiting for her… But the kidnappers’ car gets into an accident; only the driver survives, and he loses his mind. The police find handcuffs and a pistol at the scene of the tragedy — the props of the “crime.” Thus the kidnapping becomes real. However, almost no one yet knows about Ivor’s role in the affair. No one except one person, who has an interest of his own…
