Incredible luck! First, Fluke mixes up the star maps; then his “goonilka” breaks; then a liar—an interstellar hunter, the arch-enemy of the krubbs—gets attached to him. Finally, Fluke ends up in a champagne bottle and stays inside for three days until that bottle is opened at the birthday party of the sixth-grader Foma Sobolev. And that’s when Fluke finds out he’s landed on Earth. Foma and his friends Dimka and Nina are delighted to meet the little alien. Fluke tells the kids that he urgently needs a new “goonilka,” without which his saucer couldn’t fly. After all, on Earth, a tiny krubb would become easy prey for the liar—who is surely now hunting for Fluke to eat him.
