Salvaglio Nantas, before his career as a journalist/writer, was a basketball player for the Venetian team “Reyer.”
He started his work as a journalist at “Rome,” then moved to “Day.”
His first novel, written/published by the Roman journalist Nantas Salvaglio, came out in 1953. The release of the novel “The Acrobat” is dated 1962—so in the course of ten years of his writing/journalism work, his experience and skill were surely demonstrated.
He worked as a correspondent in New York and managed to obtain an exclusive interview with the unreachable Marilyn Monroe. The trick that helped him break through to the Hollywood diva was this: he sent a huge bouquet of red roses, bought from the best florist on Fifth Avenue, and enclosed it with a card that read: “da un cronista italiano che desidera incontrarla” — “from an Italian reporter who wants to see you.”
