In the Swedish system of criminal law, even the most complex and strange cases have their place. In Malmö, elite unit handles them, known as the Department of Sensitive Investigations: Ulf “The Wolf” Warg, a careful and thoughtful leader; Anna Bengtsdotter, who is in love with Warg’s car (and possibly also with Warg himself); Carl Holgersson, who loves nothing more than filling out paperwork; and Erik Nyqvist, wholly devoted to the art of fishing. Ulf takes on the most unusual crimes that require tact and a good knowledge of human nature, while also trying to untangle the tangle of his own romantic feelings—and help his dog, the only dog in all of Sweden that learned to read lips, cope with depression.
