The great combinator Ostap Bender has dreamed of Rio de Janeiro since childhood. He knows plenty of ways of doing “comparatively honest taking of money from citizens.” But—where in Soviet Russia can one find a citizen with at least half a million rubles?
And so a clandestine millionaire is found—someone posing as a modest clerk living on a pittance. And he must himself bring the money to Ostap “on a blue-rimmed platter.” How will the great combinator manage it? Will his dream come true?
