The Novosibirsk Zone of Visits has long become a familiar—though painfully dangerous—place. Artifacts are found less and less often, “black” and “white” stalkers bring back less and less loot. UN troops calmly stand watch protecting the Perimeter. And more and more scientific teams push out into lands alien to people. But the Zone lives. Breathes. And many can feel its breathing.

While Professor Lavrov tries to prove that only a few days remain until the next Zone Expansion, Vadim Nilyov arrives at the Perimeter’s borders along with a group of tourists.

Ahead of them: a familiarization tour of the UN forces base, a visit to the International Institute of Extraterrestrial Cultures. And of course, a picnic at the Zone border.
