The “MediaBook” studio releases the famous children’s tale by Alexei N. Tolstoy “The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Buratino”—an authorial reworking of the plot of Carlo Collodi’s fairy tale “The Adventures of Pinocchio.” Even today, the work is considered a classic: it was published in millions of copies and repeatedly adapted for the screen, including six film adaptations in Russia. Tolstoy himself—known by the nickname “The Red Count,” a former emigrant and nobleman—managed to fit into the Soviet era, gain recognition and well-being, become a laureate of Stalin prizes, and a close person to the authorities. He was also personally acquainted with and friends with Joseph Stalin. The audiobook is read by a popular artist, director, and dubbing actor Sergey Gorbunov.
“After calming down a little, Giuseppe took a plane, tapped it lightly with a hammer on its back part so that the blade would stick out just as much as needed—no more, no less—placed the piece of wood on the workbench and only then began to shave off curls…
— Oh, oh, oh, oh, listen—why are you pinching me? — squeaked a thin little voice in desperation…
Giuseppe dropped the plane, recoiled, and sat down right on the floor: he realized that the thin little voice was coming from inside the piece of wood.”
