A modern interpretation of Charlotte Brontë’s famous novel “Jane Eyre.” Jane has recently moved to Birmingham, Alabama, and now works as a dog walker at Thornfield Estates—a prestigious neighborhood where expensive SUVs shine and wealthy housewives suffer from boredom. Here it’s easy to stay unnoticed: no one will pay attention if she takes small scraps that were thrown away or steals a piece of jewelry from a rich client’s dressing table. And nobody will think to ask whether her name is really Jane.

But luck ends when she meets the widowed Eddie Rochester. The stronger their pull toward each other, the more insistently Jane is pursued by the story of Bea—a beautiful, successful, determined woman who died in the waters of a lake. How can ordinary Jane compare to such a legend? And will she win Eddie’s heart before the past catches up to them—hers or his?
