Will I Die a Little Fool?

2008. Varya, sixteen and spoiled and stubborn, goes for the summer to a Karelia village to stay with her grandmother. On her player are MTV hits; in her head—dreams of adventures and a resort romance, but her strict father controls every step and doesn’t let her do anything without permission.

Despite the bans, Varya decides to run away— to a local troublemaker. But instead of the long-awaited freedom, she unexpectedly finds herself on a deserted island, and even during Rusalki Week, when evil spirits roam the area.
