The Second Death of Edie and Violet Bond

In 1885, in Sacramento, seventeen-year-old twins Edie and Violet Bond possess a unique ability inherited from their mother: Violet can summon spirits, while Edie can travel into their world. These skills almost led to their father sending them to a psychiatric hospital. The girls managed to escape and joined a group of traveling medium women, who under the pretense of communicating with spirits demonstrate their true abilities. Every evening they hold “seances” with the afterlife, using music, poetry, and lectures to express thoughts inaccessible to young women of their time. But soon murders begin to occur among them, and the sisters are in danger, since the killer is willing to do anything to defeat death.
