The documentary and journalistic project “The Great Patriotic War. People. Events. Documents” will, over the course of one year, tell the story of the four years of war that changed the fate of every family in our country. More has been said and written about it than about any other event in the history of Russia, though it cannot really be called an event — it was a span of time that encompassed millions of stories and people.
Documentary footage of this war is well known to everyone, and therefore sounds alone are enough for us to “see” what we are going to talk about. Military marches, dogs barking, leaders’ speeches, shouts in the crowd, shell explosions — this terrible “symphony” of war is perceived not only by the ear, but also by the inner, “spiritual” hearing, whose presence still unites all those who live in Russia or beyond its borders, but who, one way or another, preserve within themselves the memory of those days.
The project includes songs by Soviet composers written before, during, and after the war.
Actors from Moscow theaters take part in the project.
