Description
“The Gone Moscow” is a story of remembrance about the capital that has remained only in the past. Ivan Belousov lived here his whole life and managed to convey Moscow of the second half of the 19th century in all its details: the aromas of tailor workshops, the roar of market rows, the scale of merchants’ outings, and the cries of street hawkers.

The book will be of interest to those who want to understand more deeply the everyday life and customs of Muscovites, learn about forgotten traditions and places that have disappeared from the city map.

About the author: Ivan Alekseevich Belousov (1863–1930) was born and grew up in Zaryadye in a family of a tailor. Later he became a poet and translator, actively worked in literature, and took part in the “Surikov Literary and Musical Circle.”
