Along Heather Paths

Beyond the rotten swamps, deep in the very heart of the forest, lives a witch. Her face is full of pits and ruts, her voice is cawing like a crow, and her body is neither human nor beast. She prowls along the uneven ground, hunting an innocent victim to sink her fangs into the throat, tear it open, and drink her fill of blood… And then dance atop the remains in the moonlight, screaming wildly and laughing uproariously.

That’s what they tell stories about here. Terrifying ones.

They also say there is a wise woman who guards the Gates, an alluring demon standing watch over her. They say there is the betrothed who will find his beloved no matter how many years pass. They tell of the wheel of time in which everything repeats, and of eternal love.
