Lonely and calling herself a failure, Yana came to Serbia to take care of her dying distant relative Gordana. In return, her rich aunt promised to leave her all her money and a huge beautiful house. Only after some time, Yana—who didn’t know the language and had no acquaintances in this new country—began to understand that they live in something like isolation: local people keep their distance from them. They call Gordana’s house “Black,” and consider all its inhabitants cursed. Yana would be glad not to believe the stories, but events turn out so incomprehensible that she is forced to admit the truth: she and Gordana are not alone in the old house…
