Alfred Szklarski is a well-known Polish children’s writer. He was also published under the pseudonyms Alfred Brzówkowski, Fred Garland, Alfred Murawski, and Aleksander Gruda (during the occupation).
One day, a strange guest appears in the apartment where Tomek lives with his relatives. He brings a sense of mystery; it’s clear this is someone who has seen a lot and traveled from far away. Soon Tomek learns even more astonishing news: he will soon be able to see his father, who left the country for political reasons, and then he will have to go to distant Australia.
