Take a look at your partner and be honest: is he (or she) really THE ONE? Are you sure? There’s a way to test it! The gene of perfect compatibility has been discovered. All you need is a simple DNA test, and the program itself will find your other half—the one created by nature exclusively for you, just as you are for them. Interesting? Ready to take the test? Even if you already have someone you love?
And what if the program says they’re not right for you—will you break up?
What if your chosen one is much older or younger than you, of the same sex as you… or even a serial killer?
Five different people received a message saying that their ideal partner has been found. Each of them is about to meet true love. But a future in the spirit of “and they lived happily ever after” isn’t guaranteed for everyone. Soulmates also have their secrets—each one darker, scarier… and more murderous than the next.
From the performer: For the first time in a while, I’m once again suspiciously surprised by the strange name or pseudonym of the author, and then I’m pleasantly disappointed. What could a person calling themselves Marrs possibly write? Alas… “The One” is a cat with five tails—and all five tails are fanned out, not touching each other. Each of the five stories has its own riddle; the five-chamber revolver’s cylinder rotates and the shots follow one after another, without a misfire. Each short segment ends on an intriguing note so that after completing the full five-part cycle, it starts again. Then reloading—and again—bang, bang, bang! Kudos to John Marrs for producing five complete, thrilling stories within a single minimal piece of fantastical premise. Another author has appeared whom I’ll be following now.
And.
