Nineteen-year-old Sadie Sazern and her younger sister Matty live in a small, bleak town. Their mother left them long ago and went somewhere unknown, and the girls never knew their fathers. Still, Sadie has always tried to stay afloat and provide a normal life for herself and for her beloved sister.
But one day Matty is found dead, and Sadie’s fragile world collapses.
Not trusting the police, driven by the thirst for revenge, she goes searching for the killer herself—and she too disappears.
Journalist West McCray, intrigued by the story, begins a podcast in which he follows Sadie’s trail. He hopes to find her before it becomes too late.
