Fate throws Kostya Zvyaginzev into the German rear once again, where he takes part in a combat operation of a partisan unit and unwittingly becomes involved in a secret operation called “Archive.” Together with a colonel from the Abwehr whom he captures, he returns to Moscow—where he finds the secret archive that Soviet counterintelligence had been persistently searching for.
