The Sewers of Algora

Under the pseudonym Dem Mikhailov, Ruslan Alekseyevich Mikhailov (born November 23, 1979) publishes his works—he is a fantasy writer. He is the author of several novel cycles and one of the founders of the LitRPG genre based on the subculture of popular role-playing computer games.

“The Sewage Waters of Algora” is another cycle set in the “Vаldira” world—familiar to readers and listeners from the cult books of the series “Dominion of the Clan of the Sleepless” and the adventures of the gnome Crowe.

Mikhail, a newcomer to Valdira, decided to play as a character nicknamed Shmygovik, who makes a living by theft. But the game didn’t go well right away. On the way to fame as an elusive breaker, the hero literally falls into the catacombs—there’s no way to get out. It would have been logical to delete the character created recently and start the game over. But Mikhail made a bet with his older sister that he would get to the surface despite the first level, the lack of equipment, and the map. And Mikhail’s sister is someone we already know from other Valdira books—Kira the Conqueror, an experienced player with a long track record. Not wanting to lose the argument to a woman, setting his goal to win the bet no matter what and prove to Kira that he isn’t just “anyone,” Mikhail gets lost in dark, terrifying underground tunnels packed with unknown monsters, deadly traps, and other dangers.
