Volume Four of Plato’s Collected Works includes writings from the later period of his творчества: the dialogue “The Statesman,” where the theme of the ideal ruler is developed; the extensive “Laws,” in which the theme of the social utopia (begun in “The Republic”) continues; and “The After-Laws.” It also contains the “Letters,” depicting the philosopher’s personality, and an Appendix that includes two works by the author-editors of Neo-Platonists and epigrams attributed to Plato.
