Description
In the year 9 AD, the famous Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso was suddenly exiled from Rome and sent to the city of Tomi on the Black Sea coast. The reasons for Octavian Augustus’s decision remain unknown to this day. Alexander Zorich offers his own take on this mystery. And so Ovid, after training with the former gladiator Barbius, stages his death and returns to Rome incognito, seeking his wife, taking revenge on the friend who betrayed him, and finally understanding why he was punished in reality.
