Ilya Poddubny, who found himself in pagan Rus and took the name Ratibor, by the will of the pagan goddess Mokosh is transported to the Roman Empire. Disappointed with the Slavic gods, he dreams of becoming a full-fledged Roman and simply living his life—but when he reaches the Eternal City, he is seized by legionaries and, as a Christian, thrown into the arena of the Colosseum.
