Until recently, Raul Ganeyev was the leading architect of an Earth colony on Xenob. A seemingly trivial malfunction in a brain implant turned an intelligent architect into a superhuman—a lone force that wiped out a squad of special forces sent to destroy him. And it all came down to a memovirus Ganeyev contracted at the Sanctuary of Prototypes—a place where are collected consciousness matrices of Xenob’s aborigines, who thousands of years ago abandoned physical bodies. Neither the former architect himself nor those who were supposed to destroy him realized this was only the beginning of a long war to preserve the human race.
