A former investigator, and now an employee of the organization “Eye of Infinity,” Mila Ardo is assigned her first case. She must figure out the strange return of little girl Sveta, who disappeared twenty years ago and, astonishingly, hasn’t changed a bit in all that time. In the memories of seven-year-old Sveta there is only how she left school with a friend—and how, when she got home, her mother, for some reason, had an hysterical fit.

But the further Mila unravels this tangle, the more terrifying the truth that’s emerging becomes. Her partner disappears, and the former head of one of the “Eye” branches—who burned to death in his house forty years ago—somehow rises from the dead.
