1924… A woman with the gift of foresight becomes the target of bullying by local residents. They call her a witch and stage a self-made trial, sentencing her to be hanged. Her young daughter, Jane, manages to hide at the last moment…

Present day… The spouses Nath and Helen decide to build a house in Vermont. But the plot of land they buy even a century later frightens locals because of rumors about treasure buried in the swamp and guarded by a ghost of a murdered witch. Local teenage girl Olive is convinced the treasure exists. She tells Nath and Helen that her mother disappeared a year ago because of the witch. The couple can’t help but listen as things start to go missing from their home; strange shadows appear on the swamps; and on a couple of occasions, it seems they’re even trying to kill them…
