A married bachelor lives to enjoy himself: nights are made pleasant by concubines, and loneliness—by books. But one day his wife appears on the doorstep, a wife he hadn’t remembered for three whole years. She declares that she figured out the laws and found out that her husband is her lawful “property,” meaning she intends to fully exercise her rights and give birth to a child by him. And, as if on purpose, she manages to trap the prince. This quiet, at first glance, girl has far too many secrets. His Highness is sure that with time he will get rid of the imposed wife, but for now everything is turning out differently: three beautiful concubines are crying in their chambers, and the prince’s things are rushed to the marital bedroom. The novel belongs to the cycle “A Dorama Popadanka,” but it reads as a self-contained complete story, because it’s a spin-off (sidequel).
