Lora does expertise on paintings, determining whether they’re authentic. Despite the apparent routine, her work leads her to a tangled and risky case involving women’s portraits from the Struganov family. The story turns out to be tied to long-ago events and intertwines with international intrigue. Lora has to sort out not only originals and forgeries, but also the true and false faces surrounding her.
