In the near future, experiments with drugs have become commonplace. Robert Arctor gets heavily hooked on Substance D — a “brain-burner,” a pretty dangerous thing that has become far too popular. The government understands this and takes action. Bob is being watched by Agent Fred. Or is that his paranoia brought on by using the drug? Increasingly, inexplicable things happen around him; reality is erased and replaced by narcotic visions... Or does the drug cause reality rather than visions?..
