Description
«Pollyanna Grows Up» is divided into 2 parts. In the first, events take place about two years after the spinal injury. Pollyanna has to move for the summer to Boston with Ruth Carey, because her aunt and Dr. Chilton have to leave. The second part of the story takes place several years later, when Pollyanna is already twenty. She and her aunt go through difficult times due to the death of a loved one. To earn money, Pollyanna and her aunt are forced to take in lodgers, including Jimmy Bean. Growing up brings not only joy but also sadness; even for Pollyanna, it’s hard to keep up her usual cheerful look, but friends and the “joy game” help them get through all the troubles.
