On the way from a country house to the city, a well-known Petersburg parody performer dies. Three years later, an odd investigation into the circumstances of his death begins. During the inquiry it turns out that love sometimes lives less than three years, that parody is a dangerous profession because it doubles realities, and that movement through space ultimately becomes going in circles…
