Fires of the Sea Devil

In the quiet town of Primorsk, several chilling crimes occur. The victims were hacked to death with an axe—apparently some maniac was at work. All those killed are members of sailors’ families. And not long ago, a young sailor Anton Petryakov secretly fled from one of the ships. His friends claim he only wanted to talk to his former fiancée, who was going to marry the notorious gangster Maxim Perepelevsky in town.

Meanwhile, that same axe disappeared from the galley on the ship where Anton served. Evidence points to Petryakov, but people who know him closely insist: he could never have hurt even a fly, let alone hack someone to death. And the person responsible for the sailor’s unauthorized departure—Anton’s ex-girlfriend Larisa—disappeared under more than strange circumstances. And soon she was found… but she won’t be able to tell the truth about her disappearance.
