Mark Yakovlev is the author of five books in Russian, German, and English. His previous book “Brodsky and the Fates of Three Women” contains literary-biographical essays about the lives and work of three heroines whose fates intersected with the poet and Nobel laureate Joseph Brodsky’s life—as well as essays about the unique performance “Brodsky/Baryshnikov” by Alvis Hermanis.
This audiobook consists of stories about the Odyssey of the poet’s beloved cat, Mississippi, through the cities where the heroines of the previous book live, where performances were staged by Mikhail Baryshnikov, and where Joseph Brodsky—the poet—was born.
