Before the revolution, Arkady Koshko held the position of head of the detective police in Moscow, and later headed the "detective department" of the Russian Empire as well. In emigration he wrote memoirs about his life. Being an educated man with literary talent, Koshko created entertaining detective stories. The memoirs of the old Russian sleuth are still read today with undiminished interest.
