The Exemplary Male

I was lucky enough to survive an accident on a space station and land on a habitable planet whose people turned out to be welcoming, friendly, and very much like humans. Only their oddities multiply, and the very idea of “perfect” starts to seriously frighten me.

I was brought here not alone, but together with an entire colonel—someone with a special forces past. He’s grim and a bit rude, but at least he’s a professional who won’t let us die, and maybe he’ll even take us home.

Most important of all—he’s real. And against the background of the perfection of the natives, his shortcomings start to make me like him even more!
