It seems there will never be an end to the bloody “Indian wars” in the western United States. Whites and Native Americans, crazed by mutual hatred, mercilessly wipe each other out. The Indians, at least, have enough mercy to spare white children whom they take with them and raise according to their tribal traditions… which creates no small problem for the few relatives who later, by sheer miracle, manage to find and buy back those young captives—like ten-year-old Joanna Leonberger.
