Description
“New Wild” was an art movement that emerged in Germany in the last quarter of the twentieth century. Their overriding goal for “New Wild” was to update artistic vision through aesthetic shock. Wild hunting, according to a popular myth, saw its overriding goal as updating the world in general—also through aesthetic shock. But how else could you explain their manner of brazenly intruding into the world of the living as a cavalcade of terrifying ghosts—encounters with which very few could survive? The author of this book believes his overriding mission is also to renew the world, or at least artistic vision—though he admits that compared to Kiefer, Baselitz, and Oehn, his chances are pretty slim.
